Flowermoon Studio is an eco-conscious brand for art lovers and stationary collectors that appreciate quality products full of colour and charm while being kinder to the planet.
It's the creative brand of artist Sophia Murray based in the Northwest of Ireland, all products are made with a selection of 100% archival cotton rag papers and high quality recycled paper stocks. She sells notebooks, greeting cards, pins & prints all made from her original paintings.
Sophia paints with watercolour for it's delicate, vibrant properties and it's ability to mix well with other mediums such as fine-liner pen and colouring pencil. Her paintings express her love of nature and sense of joy and magic she feels when wandering through local woodlands. She combines this love of nature with her imagination, creating paracosoms of what she calls "psychedelic botanicals".
Sophia is a member of Open Art Studio, a co-op gallery space located in the heart of Sligo town, along the Garavogue River and a regular vendor at The Conscious Bazaar, an ethical market organized by Pulled and hosted by The Nest located at Custom House Quay, Sligo.
Why called FlowerMoon Studio?
Native Americans gave names to the full moon of each month i.e; the Harvest Moon in September. European settlers followed this custom and over time created their own names. One of the names given to the full moon in May is Flower Moon, as it’s a time of fertility and for plant-life to bloom. Given that my work is clustered with florals and my birthday being in May it felt appropriate to take the name Flowermoon Studio.
